Mississippi River Fishing Report 07/11/2023
Water levels are low for this time of year. The fish however have been hungry and it has been most productive with topwater flies. The Hex hatch seemed to have happened a couple weeks late this time of year, which can slow the bite down during the daytime. Between that and angling pressure the smallmouth bass have been hesitant and non committal at times. Changing your presentation of a popper or large foam terrestrial fly by dead drifting it vs popping it has led to more hookups. Lots of big fish around.
