Mississippi River fishing report 06/01/2023

The river is dropping into great shape! Most of the smallmouth bass we ran into were post spawn and were hungry! We had great success on a full day float using top water and subsurface flies. White, Black, Yellow, and rootbeer colored flies seemed to all work quite well. Per usual a lot of fish were actively feeding on the bank, however using a sink tip helped with getting their attention in some of the deeper or faster moving water.
