Rush River Fishing Report 02/08/2023
We ventured out to the Rush River on a very sunny February day. The high that day was 37*F. We fished a few zones on the Rush River between Martel and Ellsworth, WI. We were expecting to see more insect life with the way the temps were, but only saw a few midges and small black stones hatching in the late morning and early afternoon. Euro nymphing and traditional nymphing under a strike indicator seemed to be the most productive for us. Our most productive flies of the day were: size 14-16 perdigon, size 18 black zebra midge, natural pheasant tail, and size 16 partridge soft hackle.
